Acne PreventionAcne prevention may be simpler than you think. Although there are many causes, such as heredity, which we have no control over, there are things we do have control over that can make the difference. Acne prevention may just be what you need to have clear, beautiful skin!1: Daily Beauty RoutineThe first step in acne prevention is maintaining, at the minimum, a routine of cleansing, toning, and moisturizing your face morning and evening. This takes five minutes out of your day, and five minutes out of your night. Ten minutes out of the day total for acne prevention is not a lot to ask to maintain a healthy glow! At least once a week, exfoliate to remove dead cells and promote cell renewal; and at least once a month, get a facial; but most importantly Cleanse, Tone, and Moisturize! You can use a spot treatment to reduce the inflamation. A great deal of people use toothpaste as a temporary spot treatment.
WaterAnother step in acne prevention involves drinking enough water. Water is great for your whole body, but it is especially important for your epidermis and acne prevention routine. Dehydrated skin can lead to an excess of dead cells that can build up and eventually may cause blemishes.
Caffeine, Alcohol, and SmokingFor acne prevention, try to avoid caffeine, alcohol, and smoking just to name a few. If you must reach for that cup of coffee in the morning, add an extra cup of water for every dehydrating cup of coffee you drink to your normal 8 cups of water a day.
Sun Exposure and TanningLimit sun exposure. The sun is the number one aggressor for your health! It causes premature aging and dehydrates deep into the dermis. For acne prevention, try to use moisturizers with an SPF; and definitely avoid tanning, especially indoor tanning. Thirty minutes in an indoor tanning booth is the equivalent of 300 hours in the sun!
 Spreading the Infection
HygieneHygiene is an important aspect of acne prevention. Ever wonder why one side of your face has blemishes and the other doesn’t? The answer may be as simple as not cleaning your cell phone or even not changing your pillow cases. Swabbing the phone with alcohol or putting a fresh pillow case on your pillow are two simple, quick ways to ensure acne prevention. Everything that comes in contact with your face has the potential of transferring bacteria, including makeup.
Applying Makeup the Proper WayAcne prevention occurs in the way you apply makeup. Normally, when applying a cleanser, toner, or moisturizer, you want to apply it going up. When putting on makeup, you want to the do the opposite. The reason behind this is that if you push up against the hair follicle, you can block it with makeup and bacteria. This can lead to a breakout.
Healthy Diet Maintain a healthy diet for acne prevention. Although foods, such as chocolate, do not cause it, they do not help in acne prevention. In the long run, they may affect the integrity of the oil in your epidermis, making the oil thicker, which in turn makes it harder to get through the pore, causing it to clog.In the long run, a beauty regimen and maintaining a healthy, nutritious diet are the key to acne prevention.
